I try to test my project “Inside the feed” with the New York Times RSS’s global Feed, they just have 10 news in this feed so i take the two days. You can ‘fly’ enter the pages, modify alpha apparences and distance.
I hope to do try that with my Web historic. It’s not the same work but it’s can be really fine. (more…)
(more…)
This is a Video of the interactive installation Tessella whitch I spoke in this post. It was exposed at e.magiciens festival in 2008. Tessella is a collaborative space to create a mosaic of media (pictures/videos/and others…).
In my last post I forgot to say thank you to openframeworks.cc and e.magiciens team.
Tessella is an evolution of an older project (2002), what you can see here .
This first experiment was a realtime created mosaic with my firt gsm witch had a camera, I use it one year for 903 pictures. The refresh was automatic, but now the project is close.
(more…)
Processing, JSON & The New York Times | blprnt.blg36 mins ago Processing is my tool of choice for building visualizations for a number of reasons. First, it’s easy to start projects, quick to piece together code and simple to share the results – it’s an ideal rapid-prototyping tool. Second, the wide variety of libraries available mean that it’s easy to plug into data in various formats and process the data into an easily-usable form. Finally, output from Processing sketches can be exported as .TIFFs, .JPGs, .PNGs, .PDFs, .MOVs and more, making the end project easy to deploy.

These measurements are said to be the most pleasing to the eye, and have been widely used for everything from judging beauty of a face, to the design of bank notes.
How to migrate from WordPress to WordPress MU | Wulf24 hours ago I’m quite excited to have successfully migrated my blog from 2 WordPress blogs to just 1 WordPress MU install. I had initially set up 2 blogs running on one code-base using WP-Hive, and while I’m really impressed with the hive plugin, it’s always felt more like a hack than a true trustable upgradable solution.

Fernanda B. Viégas2010/03/10 Fernanda B. Viégas is a research scientist and computational designer whose work focuses on the social, collaborative, and artistic aspects of information visualization.
Her fascination with the power of visualization to spark conversation led to the creation of Many Eyes with colleague Martin Wattenberg at IBM. The site is an open experiment on collective sensemaking and the impact of data analysis on public debate.
